Here's a hi-res shot of one of my characters I created for my Demo Reel (see in gallery).
My design idea was for an underwater humanoid with breathing apparatus for being above the water. Instead of having a temporary piece of equipment I decided to have a more permanent mask, as though the character is never underwater anymore so has to compensate with a more permanent and invasive setup.

I created the base mesh in XSI,Sculpted in Zbrush then used polypaint for the skin and z-applink for the mask features. Render was done in Maya with mental ray. I also played around with a new setup for the skin in maya using the fast-skin shader and multiple textures.
Character design by Malcon Pierce. Basically a boy whose been sent out to play in the snow by his mum but he doesn't want to. Obviously the name is in reference to his outfit, which is rather fetching This will be the main character in an Animated Short that we are working on, probably featuring a snow ball fight, and perhaps the odd flame thrower? Who knows....

Maya for the modeling, Zbrush and PS for the textures, using photos of modeling clay.

Finally finished another painting! The title was going to be "Mutant Teddy Bears: The forgotten plague" but apparently that's too long...

This painting has been in progress off and on for about 4 months, and with spring break arriving I finally got a chance to do personal work instead of classwork. I had a lot of fun painting this when I got into it, and I'm so happy I have a new tablet now, which is well and truly broken in now... anyway, can't think of anything else to mention, so I hope you enjoy it!

Not really much else to say about this piece, you can all read into it what you want, and let me know what you think!
